GROUP HISTORY

Hi and welcome to our website my name is Captain Bob Cairns and I would like to tell you a brief history about our group and what we do.

The group was formed some twenty years ago by two guys who had an interest in VIETNAM and collecting memorabilia from that period.  We have had many formats and the groups name has been changed a few times but we are recognised as the top group of it's kind that portray the 1ST CAV DIVISION in VIETNAM   1968-1969

We have twenty plus members of various ages and from all walks of life who are all dedicated to what they do.  We take part in Living History displays all over the country, the biggest being THE WAR AND PEACE SHOW in Kent and from our photographs on the website you will see we can put on a very impressive display.  All of our equipment is genuine from the Vietnam war period, from clothing to weapons and personal effects, we would not have it any other way.

Although we don't do so many now we do stage battles at various sites around the country as it gives all our members the feel of having to carry sixty odd pounds of equipment around all day and also living rough for a weekend.

Our aim is not to glorify war as i feel that would be wrong, as our main objective is to educate the public about what the life of a soldier in Vietnam was like for the 365 days that they were there, and going by the positive feedback we get from Vietnam Veterans we are getting it right.

I hope you enjoy our website and please leave a message in our guestbook giving us your thoughts on the group and if you think you are up to it why don't you apply to join us  "WELL ARE YOU UP TO IT???"
